The Utah Community Forest Council/International Society of Arboriculture — Utah Chapter recently presented six awards for outstanding service in tree care.
Awards were presented by UCFC/ISA-UC President Alex Roylance and Ty Nielson, chairman of the board.
Barbara Middleton, North Logan, was named Citizen Forester of the Year.
Ogden was named Community of the Year for its strong commitment to urban forestry.
Jeran Farley, South Jordan, was honored as Arborist of the Year.
Hal Jensen earned the Distinguished Service Award for his service to urban forestry in Utah. Jensen worked with the Utah Heritage Tree Committee to produce an online map and Big Tree Registry to help residents of Utah locate and enjoy the many exceptional and unique historically significant trees throughout the state.
